UNION TRAIN STATION with train and tracks at the Detroit Riverfront photo art print picture for sale. This professionally restored sepia toned black and white photo of the OLD DETROIT SKYLINE AND FORT ST. UNION STATION was made from the original historic vintage Detroit skyline black and white photo showing rows and rows of train boxcars on the tracks on the edge of the Detroit River riverfront. This is a very unique rare and historical perspective of Detroit showing where the Fort St. Union Station trains used to run from used to run from the early 1890's until the entire area was demolished in the mid 1970's. It was located near Fort St. and Jefferson and Third St. in downtown Detroit MI. The original black and white photo, showing old Detroit, was taken almost 50 years ago in 1963. It shows the Wabash Railroad Freight Yards with lots of trains waiting to be loaded or unloaded. In the foreground is a small U.S. Customs Office. This sepia toned print is being offered here for the first time.

The quality of the Jan Kaulins' photographic prints is much higher than we can show within limits of this web site. Slight tonal changes and blurring around the areas of strong contrast are a result of the JPEG compression process, and are not part of the high quality originals. |
