G.A.R BUILDING DETROIT photo picture print photography for sale. This vintage old G.A.R. BUILDING (Grand Army of the Republic) photo picture print for sale is made from a quite rare professionally restored original negative/photo circa 1940's. In the left center of the photo we can see the historic DETROIT G.A.R. BUILDING slightly outlined by the light color building directly behind it. To the left and behind it is THE BRIGGS HOTEL. Behind it and a bit to the right is seen the top of The Broderick Tower and further to the right we get an excellent view of downtown JL Hudson's Department Store with the 'Hudson's' sign showing at the very top of this large structure, and at the far right of the photo we see the iconic Book Tower. This is a very unique and wonderful perspective of THE G.A.R. BUILDING and its surrounding. In the foreground are nicely detailed vintage automobiles from the 1930's and 1940's in the parking lots. The quality of this photo is excellent with wonderful detail. The 'original' vintage photo has very minor 'crackling' lines on the surface emulstion that can be slightly seen when this photo is blown up very large. They do not detract at all from this wonderful image--they are just mentioned for the sake of accuracy.

IT HAS TAKEN SEVERAL YEARS TO PUT THESE OFFERINGS TOGETHER ON THIS WEBSITE. MANY OF THESE PHOTOS ORIGINALLY CAME FROM OLD DEFUNCT NEWSPAPER AND MAGAZINE ARCHIVES, WHERE THEY WERE USED ONCE FOR A STORY AND THEN USUALLY JUST THIS ONE ORIGINAL PRINT WAS MADE AND KEPT FOR THEIR ARCHIVES. HENCE, THESE HISTORICAL IMAGES WERE NOT ORIGINALLY MADE TO BE FOR SALE, BUT WERE TO BE USED AS IMAGES FOR NEWS STORIES AS THEY UNFOLDED--MAKING THESE IMAGES EXTREMELY RARE HAVING SURVIVED SO MANY YEARS. VERY FEW OF THESE IMAGES HAVE EVER BEEN OFFERED FOR SALE TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL NOW.
